Researchers and experts at Luke produce new solutions for the sustainable development of the Finnish bioeconomy and for the promotion of new means of livelihood. As a multidisciplinary research centre Luke brings together experts in the fields of natural resources and food production.

Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry
The Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry has expertise in the use of renewable resources in Finland and internationally. The faculty focuses on the agricultural and forest sciences, food and nutrition, microbiology, as well as on economics and management.

 

The Faculty of Science
The foundation for the Faculty of Science is fundamental research in the field, applied and augmented by geography and geology. The research is at an internationally high level. The Kumpula campus of the faculty is the biggest concentration of scientific skill and knowledge in the Nordic Countries.

 

 

 

Pyhäjärvi Institute
The mission of the Pyhäjärvi Institute is to promote and develop education, research, and other development activities concerning the food economy and the environment. Areas of special expertise are the food economy and the condition of waterways, as well as the protection and improvement of water.

 

 

Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Häme
Finland has a total of 15 ELY Centres, which are tasked with promoting regional competitiveness, well-being and sustainable development and curbing climate change.
